I invite you to learn more about me and how my counselling style can be a highly effective way to help you once and for all overcome various obstacles in your life. I created my practice with the unique vision to combine nature and healing. My office is situated in a beautiful studio in a forest setting by Brother’s Creek in West Vancouver. There are absolutely no distractions, which allows for an ideal setting for healing. I am conveniently located right off of exit 13 on Highway 1 and only minutes from Lionsgate Bridge, which is easily accessible from Vancouver and Burnaby and anywhere on the North Shore.

I encourage you to contact me for a no-obligation phone consultation.

Kathy has been miraculous, and the time to work though our feelings of hurt, pain, anger, distrust, guilt, confusion has been amazing. We are eternally grateful for the sessions we have had and always love going to see Kathy and look forward to the space in her sanctuary.

My Counselling Services

Within a relaxing and warm framework, I tailor my one-on-one counselling specifically to the client’s individual needs and comfort level. My objective is to offer clients a space for supportive self-exploration combined with a solution-focused and goal-oriented approach where they can see tangible results, gain motivation and ultimately feel better.

My approach to family counselling is as unique as the families I see. I incorporate all or some family members in the counselling sessions to help improve the overall functioning of the family unit. Families often get stuck in habitual patterns of functioning; when children enter new developmental stages or when various family dynamics change, patterns of family functioning need to adjust accordingly to ensure a healthy and pleasant family atmosphere for all family members.

Since most children are not able to verbally express , I use play therapy to tap into children’s natural mode of communication about their inner world. Engaging the child in play allows me to both assess how a child is doing as well as help improve the child’s well-being. This approach is as unique as each child and as such, I use various tools, including sand play, painting, drawing, collaging, clay work, poetry writing, role play, etc.

How to Choose the Right Counsellor for You?

Searching for the right counsellor and the right counselling environment is an essential yet often daunting task. The right fit is very important. I would recommend that you spend some time reading through my website, especially my training and personal values, to determine if I am the type of person you can relate to and wish to work with.  Successful therapy is very much dependent on a strong therapeutic alliance and, as such, the right fit is essential.

What Makes Creekside Counselling Unique?

My practice is unique because of my versatile and multicultural background and the location and setting of my counselling studio. Research shows that environments can directly increase or reduce stress. What we see, hear and experience impacts not only our mood but also our nervous, endocrine and immune systems. I have a very personal connection to my counselling studio, which I created with a specific goal in mind.  In my opinion, the counselling environment is a critical part of the healing process, and I have always dreamed of creating this type of unique setting with nature as the main ingredient.
